๐Ÿ•ณand๐Ÿ•ณand๐Ÿ•ณand๐Ÿ•ณand๐Ÿ•ณand๐Ÿ•ณโ€™s Dinner in Space

your dinner in space

Youโ€™re super excited for dinner tonight: ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ถ is on the menu! But oh no: ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ถ comes topped with ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ. You donโ€™t want to hurt the chefโ€™s feelings, so you sneak every bit of ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ off the plate and launch it into the sky on a ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ•ถ hot air balloon. But ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ doesnโ€™t fly far before a hungry seagull gobbles it up. Problem solved, dinner served!

Wee Ones:

Can you find 3 ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ•ถ objects near you? Which item is largest?

Little Kids:

If youโ€™re at a restaurant sharing 10 plates of ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ with a seagull, how many different ways could you and the seagull sort those plates into 2 piles?ย

Bonus:

If there are twice as many ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ-topped cupcakes as ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ถ-topped ones, and there are 7 ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ถ-topped ones, how many ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ-topped cupcakes are there?

Big Kids:

Youโ€™re opening your own restaurant and order a big box of 72 onions! But 1/2 of the onions are ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ•ณ๐Ÿ•ถ โ€“ that canโ€™t be good. How many onions do you need to toss in the compost?

Bonus:

Oh no! The onion people also keep delivering 4 1/2 pound boxes of ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ every Wednesday this May. How many pounds does that add up to for the month?

ย

Answers:
Wee Ones:

Different for everyone!

Little Kids:

There are 5 ways that you and the birds could split 10 plates into 2 piles: 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5.

Bonus:

14 ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ•ณ-topped cupcakes.

Big Kids:

36 onions.ย

Bonus:

22 1/2 pounds, because there are 5 Wednesdays in May this year.
