Want to introduce your littlest library visitors to fun math games? That’s how we’ll get our next generation to love math and excel at it. Bedtime Math has partnered with local public libraries to create a full-blown Pajama Party for children aged 3-9. We’ve developed kid-appealing games to teach basic math, like DIY Dominoes and Twisted Tangrams. Kids can show up in their PJs, play games, and take home party favors, including a Bedtime Math calendar to keep the fun going.
The Pajama Party is a key part of the Bedtime Math movement – and it’s free for our town library friends! Costs are covered by Bedtime Math Foundation, which is funded by private donations. The party kit includes all the goodies to make your next children’s event a blast. Contents include:
- DIY Dominoes: giant blank dominoes and sparkly safari stickers
- Large tangrams for group picture creation (for children ages 6-9)
- Shiny gold star stickers for the calendar
- Glow-in-the-dark magnets
- Bedtime Math brochures for the parents
- Party favor bags
In return for providing this free kit to local libraries, all we ask is that libraries help out by printing the instruction packet and the activity pages for each party attendee. Getting started is easy! To order your free Pajama Party kit, click through to our order page. Then for the instructions and print materials, click here. The party kit works best for 20 kids for a party that’s about 1 hour long…if you have a larger group for a longer event, please email us at pajamaparty@bedtimemath.org for more info. Pajamas optional, fun guaranteed!
For our school librarian friends: Bedtime Math’s goal is to show kids that math is not just something they learn at school – it’s a fun part of playtime and home life. To encourage “recreational” math, the Bedtime Math pajama party has been designed for locations outside school. But schools can help the movement by getting parents on board. Check out our parent guide to get students hooked on Bedtime Math as their daily dose of math and mischief!
