Great Crayon Cleanout 2016: Winners!

More than 25,000 kids in nearly 75 elementary schools across New Jersey did a little math to help save the planet and other kids in The Great Crayon Cleanout, a new partnership between Bedtime Math and The Crayon Initiative. 5,000 pounds of crayons were saved from the landfill, which will be recycled into new ones and donated to 11 local children’s hospitals later this year.

Congratulations to our top 10 collecting schools per student, who will be awarded their choice of one of three special STEM prizes – a drone, a 3D printer or a telescope:

Large Enrollment

  • Waterford Elementary School, Waterford, Camden County – 157 lb. 3 oz., 0.4 lb. per student
  • St. John the Apostle School, Clark, Union County – 156 lb. 14 oz., 0.6 lb. per student
  • Franklin School, Lyndhurst, Bergen County – 147 lb. 10 oz., 0.7 lb. per student
  • Irving Primary School, Highland Park, Middlesex County – 127 lb. 3 oz., 0.5 lb. per student

Medium Enrollment

  • Visitation Academy Interparochial, Paramus, Bergen County – 91 lb. 3 oz., 0.5 lb. per student
  • Memorial Campus, Lyndhurst, Bergen County – 80 lb. 11 oz., 0.4 lb. per student
  • Columbus School, Lyndhurst, Bergen County – 66 lb. 5 oz., 0.5 lb. per student

Small Enrollment

  • St. James the Apostle School, Springfield, Union County – 107 lb. 8 ounces, 0.9 lb. per student
  • Friends School, Mullica Hill, Gloucester County – 53 lb., 0.7 lb. per student
  • Developmental Learning Center, Warren, Somerset County – 31 lb. 6 oz., 0.8 lb. per student
